De to feer hed begge Amaryllis og var usynlige for alle andre end min veninde Camilla og mig. Navnet havde vi tyvstj\u00e5let fra Otfried Preusslers bog \u201dR\u00f8veren Runkeldunk\u201d, hvor en klokkefr\u00f8 viste sig at v\u00e6re en forhekset fe, der hed Amaryllis. Camillas Amaryllis boede n\u00e6rmest herskabeligt bag en stor v\u00e6v i hendes enorme k\u00e6lder, der var indrettet som legeplads. Min m\u00e5tte tage til takke med langt mere beskedne boligforhold i et lille gr\u00f8nt el-kabelskab, der stod p\u00e5 fortovet foran mit barndomshjem. Jeg husker ikke, hvem af os, der fik ideen, men det var en leg, der fyldte meget for os begge i 8-9-\u00e5rs alderen; vi lavede ofte tegninger af vores feer og af superskurken Buh, som var et sort sp\u00f8gelse.<\/i><\/p>

Mit kendskab til aphantasia<\/a> har f\u00e5et mig til at t\u00e6nke p\u00e5, om legen m\u00e5ske var mere virkelig for Camilla, end den var for mig. M\u00e5ske kunne hun virkelig se<\/i> sin Amaryllis, hvor det for mig bare var noget vi lod som om. Legen bet\u00f8d dog rigtig meget for mig. Jeg kan huske, at jeg \u00f8nskede og n\u00e6sten troede p\u00e5, at Amaryllis virkelig fandtes. Jeg \u201dtalte\u201d med hende i tankerne (lydl\u00f8st, da jeg heller ikke har en \u201dindre stemme\u201d) og forestillede mig, at hvis jeg fulgte bestemte ritualer, ville jeg blive bel\u00f8nnet og f\u00e5 hende at se.<\/p>

Aphantasia<\/a> (p\u00e5 dansk ogs\u00e5 kaldet afantasi) er navnet p\u00e5 en permanent tilstand, hvor man ikke er i stand til at danne indre visuelle billeder. Ordet kommer oprindeligt af gr\u00e6sk og betyder \u201duden fantasi\u201d. <\/i>Navnevalget s\u00e6tter p\u00e5 den m\u00e5de lighedstegn mellem (manglende) fantasi og (manglende) visuel forestillingsevne. Det kan jeg ikke undg\u00e5 at blive provokeret af. Jeg har altid v\u00e6ret af den overbevisning, at fantasi er andet og mere end blot visualisering, og har i den kontekst opfattet mig selv som et fantasifuldt menneske.<\/p>

Jeg kan dog ikke udelukke, at jeg – uvidende om at visualisering var muligt for de fleste \u2013 kan have fejlfortolket betydningen af ordet fantasi; p\u00e5 samme m\u00e5de som jeg har opfattet andre visuelle udtryk (f.eks. at se noget for sig<\/i>) som metaforiske. Jeg har derfor set n\u00e6rmere p\u00e5 ordets betydning.<\/p>

Fantasi kommer af gr\u00e6sk phantasia, <\/em>som betyder udseende, fremtoning, forestilling, indbildning. Det er relateret til ordet phantazein<\/em>: at g\u00f8re synlig; oftest brugt i betydningen forestillingsevne eller tilsynekomst. I Den Danske Ordbog er fantasi defineret som en evne til at forestille sig<\/em> noget ukendt, ikketilstedev\u00e6rende eller ikkeeksisterende. N\u00e5r jeg sl\u00e5r \u201dforestille sig<\/i>\u201d op i samme ordbog defineres det som \u201dat danne et mentalt billede af noget<\/i>.\u201d S\u00e5ledes er vi tilbage ved en forst\u00e5else, der tager udgangspunkt i det visuelle. Dog finder jeg et enkelt halmstr\u00e5, som jeg kan gribe fat i. Som et synonym til at forestille sig <\/i>n\u00e6vnes at t\u00e6nke sig. <\/i>Den betydning ligger fint i tr\u00e5d med min egen opfattelse af udtrykket. Ud fra den forst\u00e5else kan fantasi ogs\u00e5 betyde at t\u00e6nke sig <\/i>(til) noget ukendt, ikketilstedev\u00e6rende eller ikke eksisterende.<\/p>

Det er min erfaring, at det bestemt er muligt at have en rig indre verden uden at kunne forestille sig noget i visuel forstand eller g\u00f8re brug af andre \u201dindre sanser\u201d. Jeg kan ikke se, h\u00f8re, lugte, smage noget, der ikke er virkeligt (eller tilstede i nuet), men det betyder ikke, at jeg ikke kan t\u00e6nke mig til det.<\/p>

Min t\u00e6nkning og kreativitet baserer sig p\u00e5 tidligere sanseoplevelser, der hentes i hukommelsen og sammens\u00e6ttes p\u00e5 nye m\u00e5der. Jeg kan ikke genkalde mig sanseindtrykkene, som jeg oplevede dem; men jeg kan huske dem og genkalde mig de tanker og f\u00f8lelser, de var forbundet med.<\/p>

Som jeg ser det er fantasi noget langt st\u00f8rre end blot visuel forestillingsevne. Det er evnen til at t\u00e6nke kreativt. Evnen til at t\u00e6nkes sig til noget, der ikke er fysisk til stede i \u00f8jeblikket; eller m\u00e5ske slet ikke findes i den objektive virkelighed. Det er en evne til mentalt at g\u00e5 ind i en verden, der ikke er virkelig. P\u00e5 den baggrund vil jeg h\u00e6vde, at betegnelsen aphantasia (uden fantasi) giver et misvisende billede af, hvad tilstanden indeb\u00e6rer, og dermed giver omverdenen en forkert forst\u00e5else af, hvad det vil sige at have aphantasia.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
