Det kan enten v\u00e6re medf\u00f8dt (arveligt) eller erhvervet efter hjerneskade. Mennesker med prosopagnosi kan i de sv\u00e6reste tilf\u00e6lde have problemer med at genkende selv deres n\u00e6rmestes ansigter.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prosopagnosi n\u00e6vnes ofte i sammenh\u00e6ng med aphantasia, da der blandt mennesker med aphantasia er relativt mange, der ogs\u00e5 er ramt af&nbsp; kogenit (medf\u00f8dt eller udviklingsbetinget) prosopagnosi.<\/p>\n<p>Prosopagnosi som f\u00f8lge af en hjerneskade er f\u00f8rste gang beskrevet af den tyske neurolog Joachim Bodamer i 1947.
